FretBored is a guitar ear-training app that runs entirely on your device. We are committed to your privacy and designed the app so that your data stays with you.
FretBored does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app makes no network requests and has no server-side component.
FretBored requests microphone access to detect the notes you play on your guitar. Audio is processed in real time on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Your game progress, scores, practice history, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData and UserDefaults frameworks. This data never leaves your device.
FretBored may request permission to send local notifications for practice reminders. These are scheduled entirely on-device. No push notification service or remote server is used.
FretBored uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no third-party SDKs in the app.
FretBored does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
If we update this policy, we will post the revised version here with a new "Last updated" date.
